Giovanni Perrone is Full Professor in the disciplinary grouping of Economics and Management Engineering (Ing-Ind/35) at the University of Palermo. He is Head of the Department of Industrial and Digital Innovation (DIID) of the University of Palermo. He is also President of the EurOMA (European Operations Management Association), President of PNICube (Association of Italian University Incubators) and member of the Steering Committee of the MiUR for HEInnovate.
Prof. Perrone was Coordinator of the Degree Program in Management Engineering of the University of Palermo from 2005 to 2011 and a member of the Board of the Directors of the University of Palermo Business Incubator (ARCA) from 2008 to 2011.
He was a visiting scholar at MIT (Cambridge-USA) in 2003, a visiting scientist at the WZL of the Technical University of Aachen and a visiting professor at North Carolina State University in 2006/2007.
Professor Perrone teaches “Industrial Organization and Strategies and Business Game” and “Tecnology analysis and Strategic Management” to the Master’s Degree in Management Engineering. He also teachs “Technology Management” at the ISCTE-UIL of Lisbon. During his career Prof. Perrone has managed international and national research projects for a total amount of over 3.5 million euro.
The scientific activity of prof. Perrone is involved in the field of Innovation Management and Operations, areas in which he has published 69 international publications reviewed on the Scopus database in which prof. Perrone has an h-index of 16 and 750 citations.
