Andrea Santagata is Deputy General Manager and Chief Digital Officer of Magazines Italy area at Mondadori Group, where he took up his career path in 2016, following the acquisition of Banzai Media, the digital company that has developed some of the most important Italian digital brands, including Giallo Zafferano, Studenti.it, Mypersonaltrainer, Pianeta Mamma.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Mediamond and Adkaora. A graduate, summa cum laude, in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pisa, he started his career in the Internet and digital world in 1999 at Libero.it. The experience gained from 2001 to 2007 at Matrix S.p.a., the “Italian web school”, led him to become marketing director at Virgilio from 2004 to 2007 and to found Splinder, Italy’s first blog platform, the start-up Liquida and the Sitonline portal.
He pursued his career by joining Banzai in 2007, first as head of Marketing, then becoming managing director of Banzai Media in 2009 until its acquisition by the Mondadori Group in 2016. From 2014 to 2016, he was also managing director of the advertising sales house Gold 5.
